When Jack first got sick we thought it was the flu because he was such a healthy man. When he was first admitted into the hospital, he was there for 12 days and none of the doctors really knew what was wrong. You see, so Jack’s original doctor sent him to MD Anderson. Off we went to MDA and it was there we were told the worst news anybody could ever hear.

I kept all of our friends informed via e-mail as to what the doctors were telling us, the surgery, and Jack’s recovery. One of our friends happened to be working with an attorney and asked if Jack’s cancer was caused by asbestos. When I said yes, she told me that the firm she worked for handled asbestos cases and that they are great at what they do and that they have a heart and will put our needs first. Jack agreed to meet with them.

They came to our home and Jack was very impressed. Jack was not impressed easily and he could always see through people if they had heart or if they were out for themselves. We decided to hire Shrader & Associates.

They took right over and kept in touch with us and held our hands through the process. They became part of our family and they respected Jack and what he was going through. When it came time for a deposition, they came to our home because Jack was no longer able to leave his bed. They were so polite and gentle with us.

I can’t say enough of how wonderful Ross Stomel and his team of people were to us. They always put our needs first. When Jack lost his battle to Mesothelioma cancer, Ross came to Jack’s funeral. I was so shocked to see him there, after all ‘this man is an attorney’ I thought, he was doing his job to represent us. Ross always went way beyond his call of duty. However, because he went above and beyond and always treated us like family it should have been no surprise to me.

After Jack passed away, whenever I called the office everybody always treated me with respect and was so warm and friendly they always went out of their way to help me. No matter who I spoke with, they were wonderful. I can’t say enough of how kind and considerate everybody is that works at Shrader & Associates. They are in a tough business and they deal with people who have had their hearts broken. They never make you feel that you are a burden. Ross would drop whatever he was doing to talk to me and trust me, he is a very busy man. He would call me at 8:00 or 9:00 at night to check on me.

My heart breaks for anyone that has to go through this type of cancer. But these attorneys do it with heart and I will always be grateful for that. They put their clients first and themselves second. I could have never gotten through this without the team from Shrader & Associates. They are wonderful people. They had the ability to see how broken I was and they held my hand all the way through that horrible time in my life with Jack and when I was left on my own they stayed with me long after Jack’s death.
